Mike Furness
Director
Mike established Furness Partnership over 35 years ago and has grown the practice into one which has completed a diverse range of renowned projects.
Mike provides strategic direction for many projects, drawing upon his years of experience gained both in the UK and the Middle East.
In more recent years he has become an industry leading expert in the design of sports and leisure swimming pools acting variously as designer, industry peer reviewer and consultant.
Leon Furness
Director
Leon is responsible for a variety of projects within Furness Partnership London Office.
During his career he has undertaken projects across many sectors integrating different disciplines. These cover various aspects from teams involved in building structures through to infrastructure schemes.
This experience guarantees all project work can be effectively designed and coordinated to achieve excellent buildings.
Duncan McAlpine
Director
Duncan has been with Furness Partnership for over 19 years and is responsible for leading a wide variety of projects within the London Office.
During his time at Furness Partnership he has undertaken projects across many sectors, from complex refurbishments of listed buildings in central London to new build research and leisure facilities across the UK.
This diverse experience has provided a detailed knowledge of all structural materials, to the benefit of each project and to ensure that there is always an effectively designed and coordinated building for the client.
Carey Henry
Director
Carey joined Furness Partnership in 2002 and now manages the Bradford office leading the a team of engineers and technicians, Carey acts as lead contact for client, contractor and design team from project inception to completion on site.
She has gained particular expertise in wet and dry leisure facilities, and also in residential, educational and refurbishment developments. This includes both new build and refurbishment projects.
Carey’s work within each scheme varies from concept design to main frame/foundation analysis, project management or specific designs for more specialist projects.
Liam Walter
Director
Liam manages Furness Partnership Bradford office and the in-house design team.
He has worked on projects in various sectors, including education, commercial and leisure buildings and is involved in all aspects of structural design, from new build projects to refurbishment assessments.
Liam also carries out detailed design of specialist structural elements for subcontractors working on swimming pools.
He acts as the principal design coordinator with national Design/Construct building contractors and works alongside Sport England to review and updates their leisure guidelines.
Daryosh Gulparvar
Associate Director
Daryosh has been working at Furness Partnership since 2004, during this time he has been Project Leader on a number of our residential and leisure projects, including several large scale re-development schemes with complex site limitations.
He is experienced in the design of all the typical materials commonly used in the construction industry. Daryosh has also been leading our team of engineers in consulting and developing specialist fields within the construction industry, such as Structural Insulation Panels (SIP) and cladding systems.
Sebastian Maudling
Director
Since joining Furness Partnership in 2011 Sebastian has led a number of our most architecturally challenging projects.
Using his extensive experience in the structural design and site supervision of complex, high value structures from conception to completion, Sebastian has successfully completed a number of trendsetting buildings in all of the major construction materials.
His experience includes residential, commercial and industrial buildings and he enjoys collaborating closely with the design team to achieve structural solutions to satisfy the client demands.
Richard Christie
Associate Director
Richard has been with Furness Partnership Bradford office since 2009. During this time he has gained experience in a variety of roles working on projects in different sectors including education, industrial, commercial and leisure mostly in the North of England.
Following his extensive experience in the industrial sector, Richard has been Project Leader on several large industrial production facilities and has spent 6 months on site at Drax Power Station as a resident Structural Engineer.
He has expertise in all major construction materials and enjoys liaising closely with contractors to provide quick and efficient solutions to site and project constraints.
