A modern residential CLT (cross laminated timber) development and restoration of the original Lock House, previously a home to the keeper of the City Mills Lock on Back Rivers in Stratford.
Built on a small, man-made island, the new five-storey apartment block and semi-detached town houses, are highly energy efficient and have been designed to meet passivhaus airtightness standards. The interior décor materials are natural and ecologically certified.
Due to its location, the project presented complex weight and accessibility constraints which were successfully solved, allowing both buildings to be delivered on a very tight schedule of six weeks.
