Wolverhampton Civic Hall

At Furness Partnership we are in the final stages of our involvement with the renovations on the treasured Wolverhampton Civic Halls. Comprising of the Civic and Wulfrun Halls, the 84-year-old venue, now called ‘the Halls’, will open to the public in June 2023. This is a long running and extremely complex project due to the age and historical value of the building. Our expertise in restoring and renovating listed buildings across the country allowed for the ultimate vision, of turning the venue into a destination music and entertainment venue, to be realised. Structural works included construction of additional level of terrace seating, gallery promenade and bar in the Civic Hall as well as grandstand terrace seating in the Wulfrun Hall. Following structural examinations, the halls also required various structural repairs and strengthening works to breathe new life into the original 1930’s Grade II listed building. Our involvement began in summer 2018 and, despite the complexity of the job, the City of Wolverhampton Council are very pleased with the result and estimate the improved venue could boost the local economy by £10 million.
